About Us
Purpose
Trabrella was formed to help bring much-needed money to the transgender community. All of the designs on our products are made by individuals who identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, genderfluid, Two-Spirit, agender, or any other identity under the transgender umbrella. A staggering 29% of transgender people live in poverty in the United States (compared to 16% of cisgender people).¹ And the number of unemployed transgender individuals in the U.S. is double that of cisgender people (14% versus 7%).² This is due to many inequalities such as hiring biases, workplace discrimination, wage inequities, lack of legal protection, difficulty updating identification documents, and lack of health insurance or gender-affirming health care.² When you purchase a product from Trabrella, the needed business expenses (cost of goods, employee compensation, marketing, etc.) are deducted, then 100% of the profit is split between the artist who made the design and a transgender grant and mutual aid program.
